Our approach is to promote, strengthen and encourage all support networks. LK aims to strengthen and empower families, neighbourhoods, and communities so that together we can encourage an optimal quality of life that suits every person engaged with Lifestyle Kinnections.
LK utilises the “Youth Worker/Support” model of care.
The Youth/Support worker role is a broad and multi-faceted role. Youth/Support workers network in the communities and are constantly engaged in programs dealing with a multitude of issues including education, recreation, health and other community lifestyle components.
There are many approaches and strategies utilised in this model of care, none more important then the underlined philosophy of empowering individuals through positive role modelling in a safe and caring environment.
LK maximises positive role mentoring by developing their support staff to be aware of the many issues that impact children, youth and individuals with disabilities throughout the communities we live in.
LK ensures that all staff is engaged in current training to ensure that each worker is aware of the ever-changing human service field applications such as legislation, policy & procedures, current practise standards and the responsibilities entailed. |
